The Life of Mary Ann McCracken

Poetry reading and discussion on the life of Mary Ann McCracken with poets Ruth Carr and Raquel McKee, in association with the Belfast Charitable Society.
Ruth Carr is a poet, editor and educator. Her poetry collections include, There is a House (1999), The Airing Cupboard (2008), and, Feather and Bone (2018). A founder member of the, Word of Mouth, women’s poetry collective, she is co-organiser of occasional reading series, Of Mouth, Linen Hall Library, Belfast.
Raquel McKee is a poet, storyteller, singer/songwriter, educator and a first-generation Jamaican migrant now resident here. She was part of a creative collaboration with Terra Nova’s Intercultural piece, IN JUSTICE (2021), a creative conversation using poetry and movement. She applies Jamaican style Dub Poetry to address personal and political issues.
